Permanent make-up...
or cosmetic tattoos

Most welcome !
Permanent make-up is a form of tattoo (cosmetic tattoo). However the pigments used for permanent make-up have a different composition from tattoo inks and they are introduced less deeply into the skin layer. Beside permanent make-up or permanent cosmetics, the terms make-up tattoo, eyeliner tattoo, eyebrows tattoo, lipliner tattoo and cosmetic tattooing are often used.
Permanent make-up slowly fades due to our skin’s natural “cleaners” which are present in this skin layer and due to the exposure to UV light, to become most of the time near to invisible, but some parts of the pigment will always remain in the skin, whether visible or not varies with each individual.
Therefore a permanent make-up procedure needs to be tought of as permanent and requires perodic maintenance . Most of the time after 2 to 3 years, for some sooner, for some later.
Permanent make-up is a centuries-old way to enhance facial appearance.
In the past, people used little bamboo sticks to introduce pigment into the skin in order to enhance the eyeline, lips and eyebrows.
Fortunately, today we have far more advanced equipment at our disposal, so that permanent make-up procedures are much more comfortable.
Permanent make-up procedures performed by well trained and experienced technicians are completely safe and often give more natural results than traditional cosmetics.
In these modern times, especially women are keen on keeping their make-up ritual as short as possible and still achieve the best results.
Permanent make-up offers you the long-lasting pleasure of always looking good, not feeling so naked when you look into the mirror in the morning and saving quite a bit of time on make-up application.
With permanent make-up, you will not be confronted with your imperfections all the time and you will feel more confident about your looks. When working out , swimming or sweating you will never again have to worry about your eyeliner turning into a black smudge under your eyes, or losing parts of your eyebrows.
People often want an eyeliner, but they give up because their hand is not steady, or because they wear glasses and can’t see it very well.
And who enjoys trying to draw a pair of equal eyebrows with a perfect brow line each morning?

Moreover, since permanent make-up allows to create the most natural-looking make-up, it can be a solution for those who have lost their eyelashes or eyebrows due to e.g. Alopecia Areata.
People who need chemotherapy, for instance, and who possibly will loose their hair often feel better if the eyebrow line has been colored in subtly, so when the hairs fall out, they will have a temporary eyebrow in the right place.
I have applied eyebrows to men who for some reason hardly had any hairs; after healing, nobody noticed that they had had permanent make-up applied, only that they looked better.
Eye-lash enhancement (little dots between the eyelashes) to pronounce the expression of the eye contours is perfectly possible for men and woman without looking unnaturaly made-up.
Lips with an irregular shape or unclear lip contours can be made wonderfully symmetrical again or be given clear contours by means of a permanent lip liner.
Therefore, for many people permanent make-up is a wonderful gift if it is well-performed and adapted to one’s personality.
Beside a few exceptions, permanent make-up is suitable for everyone.
Permanent make-up does not always have to be notably visible. Originally, permanent make-up was meant to add natural-looking accents and sometimes it was said that...
“A nice permanent make-up is not noticed, but who has it looks noticeably better”.
The choice is yours, striking or natural. Permanent make-up gives you a comfort that once you have it, you want to have it always !
What is possible ?
With permanent make-up...
you have a wide range of possibilities. Permanent make-up is a permanent or long-lasting make-up ; therefore it is very important to make sure that its color and shape are adapted to your face and your personality.
It is also important to take into account your type of skin, as every skin is different. Sensitive skin and the way skins react have a considerable influence on the result that can be obtained.
Permanent make-up does not always substitute classical make-up. People with light eyelashes will still have to dye them or apply mascara in order to achieve a finished result.
However, permanent make-up will considerably reduce the time you spend on make-up, and it will stay in place beautifully.

Eyes
Permanent eyeliner...
To highlight your eyes, you can opt for anything between eyelash enhancement ( subtle little dots between the eyelashes ) and a defined eyeliner. The idea is to enhance your eye contours as much as possible and give your eyes maximum expression.
Normally the best results are obtained by applying both upper and a lower line, even if you do not usually draw eyeliner. The wonderful thing about permanent make-up is that you can achieve a very subtle and natural effect. It does not necessarily have to look like eyeliner; just a thin line or dots between the eyelashes enhances the lash line and makes the color as well as the shape of the eyes come out more beautifully.
People sometimes draw a heavy line under their eyes because they find it difficult to apply an upper-eyeliner but still want to draw attention to their eyes. This way the make-up becomes to heavy and color and shape of the eyes are often lost.
By accentuating the eyes with the right color and shape, the best results are achieved.
You can opt for neutral colors like black and brown, but colors adapted to the iris are also possible. Black eyeliner does not suit everyone; on some people it looks like a band around the eye which attracts all the attention.
Often a better result is obtained using a color which is in harmony with the colour of the skin or the iris, so that the attention is drawn to the eyes themselves, not the make-up.
Eyes which are too small or too big can be made to look proportional to the shape of the face. For example, by extending the upper eyeliner slightly beyond the outer corner of the eyes, these will look bigger.
An eyeliner on the lower lash line which does not run all the way to the inner corner of the eye often has a lifting effect and prevents the eyes from looking smaller.
The bottom line can never be connected to the upper eyeliner; on the out-side corner of the lower lash line and towards the corner beside the nose one is limited to the lash line. This is because there is a gland in the inner as well as in the outer corner and apart from the fact that it is best not to damage it, it can create an ugly stain wich will never disappear again.
That is why I never take any risks in this matter.
The white line above the lower lash rim is not pigmented either.
This is very delicate tissue whose function, in my opinion, must not be damaged.

Double or smudgy eyeliner...
If you do not want a defined line, you can choose to have another colour applied on top of your eyeliner. It will give your eyes extra life and a soft shadowy effect.
By applying a little white line above or below the eyeliner, deep-set eyes can be optically enlarged or opened up .

Wenkbrauwen
Filling eyebrows...
If you do have eyebrows but they are too thin or their shape needs to be corrected a little, the technique of filling them up with hairs can make them look much better. The eyebrow can be filled up only slightly or completely.
This can be done in a very natural way so that even from up close the difference from natural eyebrows can often hardly be noticed.

Creating eyebrows...
Except on explicit request, a defined line is hardly ever used for eyebrows. A special technique is used to create a shadow effect, thus creating a very natural eyebrow. The eyebrows provide a frame for the face and create expression; however, they must not attract all the attention.
Your natural facial expression and skin colour will be taken into account. This method can also be used to add missing bits of eyebrow or cover scars in the eyebrows.

Hairstrokes...
It is the most natural technique to shape the eyebrows: hairs are “pigmented” onto your skin. It is especially suitable for people who suffer Alopecia Aerata and do not have eyebrows at all, but also to add in missing pieces.
It can be performed using only one colour or two colors to add extra dimension. Unfortunately, some skin types do not allow it to be used.
Although it can not always be determined with 100% certainty whether you belong to these skin types, my experience often allows me to recognize the signs before starting the pigmentation. Therefore, I will inform you as well as possible before starting the procedure.
If well performed permanent eyebrows with hairstrokes will give you eyebrows your friends will envy and hardly anyone will see it was done with permanent make-up.

Lips
Permanent lip liner ...
To achieve beautiful lip contours, permanent make-up offers you several possibilities. A natural coloring in your natural lip colour or a touch darker will assure that the shape of your lips becomes clearly outlined again and can cover up unevenness without looking made-up all the time.
A more pronounced colour, on the other hand, will make your lips stand out a little more. This way (to a certain extent) a fuller or, on the contrary, a less full effect can be created. It is important to bear in mind that the darker the colour is, the more you accentuate an imperfect lip shape. Permanent make-up can be used to perform certain corrections, but it does have its limits. An asymmetrical lip attracts more attention with a darker colour than with a lighter colour.
You can choose between a thinner or a thicker line. Also possible is a lip line which fades towards the inside. It makes the line less firm and your lips will look fuller.

Full lips...
With the “full lips” technique, the lips are colored in completely in order to create the illusion that one is always wearing lipstick. As its name indicates, the purpose of this technique is to create beautiful full lips. However, it must be borne in mind that lipstick is glossy and pigmentation is not, unless you apply lip gloss on top of it.
The “full lips” technique is available, but personally I am not keen on using it on everyone. If you often suffer from dry or cracked lips, it’s best not to have it done.
The lip is formed by mucous membrane. Therefore it is important to interrupt the natural moisturizing function as little as possible, especially in the case of people with dry lips, where this function is not being performed optimally.
If in this case you do decide to have a “full lips” done anyway, you should be prepared for an often unpleasant healing process and taking good care of your lips during this period, but also properly hydrate them on a daily basis afterwards. People with dry lips will probably need a touch up every other year .
“Full lips” is especially suitable for people with irregular or non-existent lip shapes, or for people whose lips have lost nearly all their colour.
For people who often get fever blisters or herpes simplex, this technique is not adviced. Those who suffer these conditions only now and then, must be prepared to take the necessary medication.

Soft Full lips with a contrasting lip line ...
“Full lips” with a contrasting lip line can be used to correct or enlarge the lips. Enlarging the lips is only possible when there is no or hardly any level difference between the lip and the surrounding skin. If there is a level difference, the result often looks artificial and strange.
Personally, I find this the prettiest form of full lips.
To obtain the soft effect, much less pigment needs to be applied than for normal full lips. The lip is damaged less and heals far better. The colors should be kept soft; dark colors only lead to a nice result on people with a dark skin.
For a lip enlargement you must count on 3 to 4 sessions.
This technique is not adviced for people who often get fever blisters or herpes simplex as well.

Foto 3. Second procedure, lips were out lined (right after procedure)

Beauty-spot ...
A beauty spot often adds a nice touch, depending on your personality of course.
A beauty spot is never applied onto an existing spot to make it darker, unless you have written permission from your doctor or dermatologist stating that the tissue is under no risk and may be pigmented.

Freckles...
On lively faces they are often a nice playful touch.

Colouring in a scar or areola...
Colouring in scars or spots with uneven pigmentation in the skin or areola is a more advanced procedure of permanent make-up. It is also called medical pigmentation, dermopigmentation or dermatography.

Permanent make-up procedure
- 24 hours before procedure it is best not to drink alcohol or take aspirin.
If you have to take blood thinners for medical reasons, no problem, I can adapt the treatment.
- First, an information form is filled out, containing your personal and some medical information (whether you take certain medicines, have any allergies, etc.)
- Your needs, style, expectations and desires will be discussed.
Are you sporty, extravagant,..? Do you prefer a natural look or something a little more striking...
Your colour type will be determined: is your skin colour cool or warm? The colour of eyes and hair are also taken into account.
This is very important if you want to feel good about your pigmentation, as even the prettiest eyeliner or lip contour, if it does not match with your personality and natural features, you will not feel good about it.
- The lips or eyebrows are drawn on first according to your wishes, and of course you can count on my advice.
- Then an anesthetic cream is applied and after a while the pigmentation can be started.
- You will receive instructions for aftercare and we will make an appointment for a check- and possible touch-up.
- The total duration of the treatment is approximately 2 hours.
- After about 1 week the skin will visibly have healed.
However, because the skin still needs to heal on the inside, the colour may still change in the following 2 weeks, thus only after this time you will see the final result of your treatment.
- 4 to 6 weeks later you need to come back for a check-up (max. 2 months).
Is the shape nice and even?
Does the colour and shape meet your expectations?
Are there any bits which were left out?
Whatever appears to be necessary will be taken care of.
For most treatments, one touch-up is sufficient; for lips mostly 2.
A lot depends on your skin type, but often also on how well you followed the after-treatment instructions. Therefore it is essential that you strictly follow the instructions in this respect during the first week after its application .
If you follow these instructions closely, you will hardly experience any discomfort and your skin will heal without any problems.
The pigmentation process will be completed much faster and often the pigmentation will also last longer.
A good after-treatment is very important for permanent make-up.
- If it turns out during the touch-up treatment that you probably won’t need further touch-ups, I still advise you to come by again within two months for an evaluation check-up.
This will only take 10 minutes. People often think it looks perfectly alright but, when looking at it from up close, some weak spots might still be detected. Should this be the case during the evaluation, you can make another appointment for a small touch-up. This way there is less risk of the pigmentation fading unequally.

What guarantees do you have?
Because permanent make-up needs to look great ...
As a qualified beautician, my passion for permanent make-up started in 1996.
Thanks to my diplomas as a cosmetician, a colour and style consultant and a specialist in permanent make-up and dermopigmentation as well as regular training courses at home and abroad and many years’ experience, I master all the permanent make-up techniques that are offered nowadays, so you have nothing whatsoever to worry about: I can guarantee you a perfect, completely risk-less pigmentation.
It is important to me to always give my clients complete and truthful information and to give them a beautiful but also sensible form of permanent make-up.
I do not perform techniques which in my opinion contain even the slightest risk.
I find it especially important to make a personal analysis of each client with respect to skin structure and sensitivity.
Permanent make-up , save a few exceptions, is suitable for everyone; however, not all techniques are.
I use the newest digitally-controlled equipment which guarantees precision and which, thanks to its single-use needle modules, offers you absolute security when it comes to hygiene and sterility.
The internal needle cooling system ensures a minimal chance of swelling and sensitivity.
The pigments used have been approved and are safe to use. During all the years that I performed permanent make-up procedures, I have never encountered an allergic reaction to the products or pigments I used, even with clients who were very allergic to many other things.
Therefore permanent make-up is often used for those who are allergic to traditional make-up pencils, etc.
You will receive a guarantee in writing !
The most important thing is that you receive a perfect pigmentation which makes you feel good and does not involve any risks.
That is why I am very happy to provide you with a written guarantee with every procedure . It guarantees its finish as well as its colour and its minimum duration .
The rates include all follow-up treatments that might be necessary to provide you with the previously agreed result.
As long as they take place within the previously set period of time, this will be no problem at all; your result has been my publicity for years. After every touch-up you have two months time to report anything you think that should be changed and it will be taken care of.
